| Description | The author of the present contribution deals with philological study in connection with the profile of contemporary Czech philologist. The key is represented by the character of the teacher, scholar and supervisor, the problem of free and qualified discussion of the teacher and the student, the master and the disciple, lingua franca, i. e. the university language, the rise of supranational universities, the stay of foreign students at Czech universities, the contradiction between the number of obligatory foreign languages at secondary schools and the university internationalization, continuiuity and discontinuity of the scientific research, tradition and innovation, study structure, subject composition and subject sequence, the quality of science and administrative overload, the question of „new philology“ and philological terminology, practical emploment of philologists and the future of philology related to the intentions of new generations and with the state of society. |
