Description | Based on the correspondence produced by Italian ambassadors at the imperial court, this chapter analyses and compares the image of two monarchs from the Luxembourg dynasty, the (half-)brothers Wenceslas and Sigismund. The author gradually examines the reflection on the sovereign and his behaviour, the court and courtiers, and finally the rituals, ceremonies and festivities. The testimonies of foreign diplomats show marked differences in the "rulership style" of the two kings. |
