Description In this article silver mining of the 13th century in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands with the centre Jihlava (Iglau) is presented. Before the opening of the silver mines in Kutná Hora, it was the most important raw material area in the dynastic reign of the přemyslid kings. In particular, the results of the mining-archaeological prospects and excavations are reflected. The heyday of precious metal mining from about 1238/1240 to 1290/1300 is considered.
