Description The contribution presented the author's research on the political influence of occultism and esotericism in the Czech lands from the late 19th century, when modern Czech occultism was emerging, to the political processes in the 1950s, during which it, conversely, declined. Specifically, its remnants departed from public life and withdrew into illegality. Among the questions addressed in the contribution, let's mention, for example, the influence of interwar nationalism and racial theories on Czechoslovak occultism. Furthermore, the impact of occultism on the shaping and transformations of the Czechoslovak state, the involvement of occultists in anti-Nazi and anti-Communist resistance, and the problem of collaboration with both totalitarian regimes. We also won't forget the question of German occultism in the Czech lands.
