Description | Text reflects the collective exhibition Meta-Landscapes: Representations and Perceptions in the Valletta Contemporary art gallery in Malta. The show presented thirteen works by twelve prominent video artists: Norbert Francis Attard, Vince Briffa, Robert Cahen, Peter Campus, Terry Flaxton, Gary Hill, Madelon Hooykaas, Beryl Korot, Chris Meigh-Andrews, Michael Snow, Yeoul Son, and Steina Vasulka. The most of the displayed artists see landscape as a mental projection of physical space-time and place where the apparent macrocosm interacts with invisible microcosm, for some of them it is a resource of aesthetic experiments, the others perceive landscape as a necessary living space that became endangered due to ambitious human activities. |
