Description The article presents the sealing practices of the provincial commanders of the Bohemia and Moravia bailiwick of the Order of Teutonic Knights. The first surviving seal is the Ludwig von Baldersheim seal from 1261. According to the description, it is a personal seal, but its image is identifiable as a scene of the Risen Christ with St. Thomas. This scene will become binding for other types of seals of the commaders, but these will be official seals. The last provincial commander of the remnant bailiwick Mathhäus Švihovský, was the last to seal with this image at the beginning of the 16th century.
