| Description | The thriller Echo by Dutch writer Thomas Olde Heuvelt is about a Dutch climber Nick and his American partner Sam. One day, Nick and his friend Augustin travel to Switzerland to climb a mysterious mountain. On the descent, Augustin dies and Nick suffers serious injuries. After a while, Sam notices that something of the terrifying mountain remains in Nick. The novel deals with themes of physical injury, psychological trauma, and homosexuality, among others. It contains a number of Anglicisms and cultural references, and several narrators get to speak. |
