| Description | Narrative prose cocnerning the lives of young people has long been one of the most popular genres of literature for children and young adults. So far, however, it has only rarely come to the attention of literary scholarship.This monograph focuses on the definition of the concept of youth narrative prose and on the development of the genre during a breakthrough period. The author covers the changes to the genre in the Czech literary scene from 1989 to the end of the first decade of the 21st century. In doing so, she examines the developmental tendencies of books for adolescent girls and boys, as well as the phenomenon of young adult fiction, which is beginning to increasingly influence the domestic book market. |
