Description | It is a well-known fact that the production and reception of a realized architectural work is closely related to various media, through which, on the one hand, the intended work is presented and realized, and on the other hand, the finished work is evaluated and interpreted again through otherwise different media. The relationship between the architect's "mental work" and the first-mentioned media during construction is naturally two-sided. When designing, the architect is not only dependent on the media used, but also the media themselves have a different nature depending on the creative stage in which they are used by the architect. One of the most perfect allegorical depictions of the architect's "mental work" can be found in the book Idea dell'architettura universale, which was published by the Venetian architect Vincenzo Scamozzi. |
