Description The Russian language has been an important source of inspiration for Czech vocabulary in the past. And for specialist vocabulary too. It was used by revivalists, zoologists and botanists, Czechoslovak legionaries, and socialist nomenclature. Which areas were most influenced by Russian, and which specialized terms have survived in the language to this day? Data from the Czech National Corpus will answer these questions. In this paper we will present historical milestones of Russian influence on different areas of Czech terminology and focus on frequency analysis of selected terminology over the last 20 years.
