Description | The DYSLEX platform is a software system designed for diagnosing dyslexia based on eye movement data classification (i.e., eye-tracking data) using machine learning methods. For this purpose, six special diagnostic tasks were designed, which the subject performs while their eye movements are recorded. From the captured data, several types of characteristic eye movement features are automatically extracted, which are analyzed using various types of classification algorithms based on the principles of neural networks (MLP, Resnet18, ResNet50) and nearest neighbor search. The output is a clear report with classification results and detailed information about individual tasks. The given classification algorithms were trained on eye movement data collected from 70 primary school students. The classification success rate reached up to 90%. The entire software system can be run on a standard computer connected to a monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050 and an eye-tracker with a frequency of 250 Hz from SMI. The developed system is primarily intended for educational-psychological counseling centers diagnosing dyslexia in children aged 9-10 years. |
