Description In this invited lecture, partial results of this year's Hope Barometer research program were presented. The research sample consisted of 1,000 adult Czech respondents, of which 192 people fell into the youngest category of 18 to 30 years and 440 were included in the oldest age group of 60+. The results of the analyzes showed the significant differences in important mental health indicators between the youngest and oldest groups: Older people showed significantly lower levels of anxiety and depression, and higher levels of hope and overall mental well-being than the youngest generation. Other results revealed the most common content of hopes in old age, what people do to fulfill them and who is their source of hope. In conclusion, five keys to mental well-being in old age were presented, which are based on the findings of our long-term research in the field of the psychology of hope.
