Description In this paper, the author aims to present the results of an analysis conducted on data from several Turkic languages, Mongolian, Finnish, and Hungarian. The data consists of lexemes taken from dictionaries and texts available online, primarily from encyclopaedic and news websites in order to ensure a lower probability of one time or sociolinguistically induced mistakes. The borrowed lexemes were divided into several groups based on the probable age of the borrowing, arrangement of vowels, and, in the case of Russian loans, the presence of a word-final soft sign. Additionally, a group consisting of anthroponyms and toponyms is analysed separately on the supposition that they may behave differently since they assume a non-identical, more foreign position in the language than loanwords.
