Description The introductory text to the catalog of the work of Franz Anton Maulbertsch in Bohemia and Moravia discusses the question, if it is possible to establish a certain relationship between the visual form and content of the artist's work with mental stereotypes in the sense of the world of Moravian patrons and late enlightened people. The topic is gradually discussed in partial probes: mental stereotypes and the concept of "collective representation"; the late Enlightenment in Moravia; traditional baroque allegory and the world of new patronage; Arcadian criticism and the importance of new visual thinking; art and the anthropological turn; collective representation and an invitation to dialogically empathize with the richness of visual form.
