Citation NOKKALA MILTOVÁ, Radka. Únosy v antické literatuře a jejich reflexe v umění (Heroic Rapes in Ancient Literature and Their Reflection in Art). In XXXII. Letní škola klasických studií: Antická kultura a reflexe emocí: „Dokazovat, vyvracet, probouzet city.“. 2024.
Description The lecture focused on the motifs of women being abducted by men. A literary plot, mostly taken from the text of Ovid's Metamorphoses, where the poet vividly depicted the motif of fear, which enhances male desire. Underneath some of the most commonly used iconographic themes in early modern art, such as the Rape of Europa or the Rape of Proserpina, lies a wide range of meaning. This has been shown in specific works of art from the Kromeriz residence.
