Description The topic of the lecture at the Institute of History at the University of Klagenfurt was poverty in the Habsburg Monarchy in the long 19th century. The lecturer summarised the legal framework for the formation of systematic poor relief from Josephinism to the end of the 19th century, and pointed out the different situation before and after the abolition of the patrimonial system. Research revealed the specific form of poor relief in the form of the poor relief institutes.
