Description | The chapter presents two texts that illustrate Hus' progressive distancing from the Roman Church. The first is a set of articles of accusation against him by his opponents between 1409 and 1411, based on the collected testimonies of witnesses, which Hus provided with answers before his departure for Constance in 1414. The second is Hus' most important theological work, the treatise De ecclesia, in which he builds on John Wyclif's conception of the church. Excerpts from both texts follow. |
