| Description | In this paper we focus on the fixation of dialectal forms in the official forms of various groups of geographical names (place names, but especially place names and street names) in the Czech Republic. The first part outlines the administrative process of the creation of each group of names (i.e. who is responsible for their official form and how much influence linguists can have in this process). In the second part, we demonstrate with concrete examples which specific dialectal features from different language plans are written into the different groups of geographical names. |
