| Description | The last 30 years have been a truly turbulent time for beer culture in Bohemia and Moravia. Social and political changes have brought about a shift in the perception of beer from a mere food to a cultural drink. The range of different beer styles and varieties has been supplemented by countless innovations from abroad that have found their way to our country thanks to the rapid development of travel and the open market. This interactive lecture will look at aspects of the transformation of beer culture from the 1980s to the present day, while not forgetting to trace the continuity of traditions that have been attached to the production and consumption of beer in the Czech lands since the 19th century. Ample space will be allocated for discussion with the audience. The lecture will be enriched by the opportunity to taste beer on tap from a selected craft brewery directly in the courtyard of the faculty. |
