Description | Jakub Tajovský's exhibition entitled Disruption Of The Loop develops his long-term interest in expanding the possibilities of painting and pushing the boundaries of visuality and imagination. Tajovský sees painting as an ideal platform for exploring the imagination, which, in his view, is not just the result of human imagination, but is formed in an equal dialogue between the artist, material, technology and other socio-cultural influences entering the painting process. The conception of painting as an open apparatus, shaped in the spirit of the new materialism by human and non-human actors, led Tajovsky to experiment in the field of painting technology. At the beginning stood the development of his own painting material GLUP, whose physical properties made classical brushwork impossible. In collaboration with PrusaLab, Tajovský therefore developed an original robotic tool called Malbot, which allowed him to replace the gesture of the human hand. In Tajovský's painting installations, the artist does not act as a sovereign source of imagination, but rather as a moderator of the painting process, setting certain conditions within which a new synthetic type of imagination is formed through simple mechanisms and the action of natural physical phenomena. |
