Description | This paper offers a critical view on studies about Nuremberg’s often-described role as the center of news exchange in the Holy Roman Empire by evaluating the city council’s correspondence on the Hussite War, which was preserved in several drafts and copybooks. With a combination of a quantitative and qualitative approach to the source material, it raises awareness of the selectiveness of the correspondence and offers an explanation regarding the agency of the council, which leads to the proposal of a new perspective on the topic. |
