Description The lecture focuses on classroom communication at the lower secondary school level and reveals how dialogue in teaching can significantly contribute to each student’s success, based on fifteen years of research conducted by Professor Klára Šeďová and her research team in the field of classroom discourse. It highlights that teaching communication plays a crucial role in the learning process and that the quality of this communication is closely linked to students’ educational outcomes. The lecture further explores the extent to which students’ communicative behavior reflects their test performance. It examines in detail what motivates some students to participate in discussions while others remain passive and offers strategies for teachers to support the engagement of all students in educational dialogue. In conclusion, the lecture emphasizes the importance of dialogic teaching and provides suggestions on how teachers can experiment with elements of dialogic teaching in their own classrooms.
