Description In October 1982, a Czech-Polish symposium was held in Franken, Germany, under the auspices of the Catholic association Opus Bonum. The association, established in 1972 in Frankfurt am Main by Czechoslovak exiles, wasenvisioned as a community dedicated to preserving and fostering Czech and Slovak Christian culture. The founders of the association were abbot Anastáz Opasek and theologian Vladimír Neuwirth. Since 1979, Opus Bonum was been based in Munich, organising annual symposiums, discussion meetings, and cultural events. These gatherings, originally intended as spiritual forums, oftenevolved into platforms for political debates and ideological clashes among Czechoslovak exiles.
