Description The contribution focuses on authentic speech events in 14 driving school conversations from the ZuMult project (Access to Multimodal Corpora of Spoken Language). Using corpus linguistic methods, the study examines the use of specialized language in the transcribed conversations as well as specialized lexicography in comparison to general language usage. Additionally, the focus is on different types and varying degrees of pre-formed linguistic units, conversation organization, factual representation, action constitution, and the organization of identity and relationships between the interlocutors. Furthermore, the study addresses the question of how specialized terms can change their meaning and function through the context of spoken language and explores the potential value and applications of spoken language analysis for specialized language research.
