Citation
Description Architect Bohuslav Fuchs was a man of many talents, one of which was the ability to translate his ideas into written form. It is by no means the norm for architects to write, and certainly not to write anything other than technical descriptions of their projects. Bohuslav Fuchs, however, was consistently active as a journalist on many platforms of the time - the magazines Index, Výtvarné snahy, Veraikon and Lidové noviny can be mentioned. Most of them were naturally related to architecture or urbanism in one way or another, but we can also find reports, memoirs or more generally formulated reflections on construction and specific cases. At the same time, Fuchs wrote in a clear and articulate language that made his texts accessible to the reader. In the proposed paper, our aim is both to present and dissect Fuchs's writings in a kind of statistical and thematic overview, and to discuss two of the articles in detail and reflect on them in more depth.
