Description | The conceiving of the conception "national history" has resulted in a series of trends which have placed "political-educational" goals and belles-lettres styles in the forefront. In a variety of historical periods and in various locations, history as arigorous scholarly discipline has either succumbed to these trends or found itself in serious conflict with them. Within the concept of "national history", it is necessary to assert the ideas of continuity, integrity and uniqueness along with a thorough, comparative approach within the framework of Europe. |
