Description In his famous Über Sinn und Bedeutung Frege opened a problem of sentences about identities (a=a, a=b) which become popular for propositional attitudes towards sentence like Venus=Venus, Venus=Morning Star; for their analysis construed notions of meaning and sense. After him many tried to develop this sense formally, most commonly it is considered as function from possible worlds (an intension). Quine did not understand these mysterious intensions (Quines problem) but many modal logicians (especially Barcan Marcus) reacted by defence and critique of Quines position. When developing his theory of singular terms Kripke disbelieved common solutions of the problem in his Identity and Necessity (Kripkes puuzle is easily solvable). What remained was the problem of hyperintensional identities (equilateral triangle=equiangular triangle) which is plausibly solved in Tichýs transparent intensional logic.
