Description | Sorption of lanthanide ions on a new material, a silica gel with chemically bound phosphonic acid, was investigated and some physical chracteristics of the sorbent were determined. Good separation of rare earth elements was achieved by using HPLC column packed with 10-um particles and mobile phase containing alpha-hydroxyisobutyric acid. REE were detected photometrically after their post-column derivatization with Arsenazo III. |
