Description Felbamate belongs to the antiepileptic drugs of the 3rd generation, that are known for their psychotropic effects potentially usefull in the therapy of depressive patients. We studied effects of felbamate (15.0, 60.0 a 240.0 mg/kg, p.o.) on social, defence-escape, aggressive and locomotory behaviour in male mice in the agonistic interaction with the non-aggressive group-housed partners. We observed a dose dependent antiagressive effect of felbamate without sedation, further more, there was a significant stimulation of locomotion after the highest dose used.
