Description DNaseI cleaves both strands od DNA molecule by chance in the presence of Mg2+ and Ca2+ ions. DNaseI immobilised on magnetic cellulose was choosed as a model system. Lanthanides have the same chemical properties as Ca2+ ions. Lanthanides have an inhibitory effect on enzyme activity activated with divalent cations in many cases.Cleavage of chromosomal DNA was not detected using DNaseI activated with La3+ ions. Cleavage of plasmid DNA was detected in the presence of some lanthanides ions only.
