Description Efflorescence is a crystalline deposit on concrete surface. The origin of efflorescence is in water solution transported from underground or in leachting of calcium hydroxide from hydrated cement in concrete. The role of calcium hydrocide in concrete and its action during efflorescence forming is described. The efflorescence composition on the surface of concrete paving block have studied by microscopic analyses. The composition of insoluble white efflorescence corresponds to calcite.
