Description Oscillatory and spectral properties of the higher-order Sturm-Liouville difference equations are investigated. Sufficient conditions for (non)oscillation of these equations are derived and the obtained results are used to study discreteness and boundedness below (the so-called property BD) of the spectrum of associated difference operators.
