Description Chronopsychology is a discipline that studies mechanisms and functions of rhythmicity in psychological variables such as memory, perception and emotional processes. This review is concerned with the most important findings of this relatively less known area and its both practical and theoretical applications. There are mentioned any often used chronopsychological terms and theories. The main part of this review is focused on diurnal (circadian) rhythms in human performance, subjective alertness and mood and individual differences in these rhythms. However, any most important results from ultradian and infradian chronopsychology are also presented.
