Description The contribution made in this paper results from the outcomes of a research project titled, Information and Communication Technologies and School Culture (Towards the role of information and communication technologies in the development of Czech school culture). The media is a significant factor that shapes our perception of reality, and the content of media messages is considered to be a true reflection of reality by many recipients. Furthermore, the interest of individuals involved in school education and in information and communication technologies (ICT) is often evoked by the media. The author of this paper attempts to answer the question whether selected Czech pedagogical journals and periodicals, aimed at a broader pedagogical public (both in print and electronic form), and daily press reflect the relationship between ICT and schools. The contribution of the results of analysing the media, in regard to current ICT development and school functioning, is presented.
