Description | The successful therapy by new antitumour drugs increased number of patients with side effects after this treatment (cardio- and neurotoxicity). Anthracyclines are suggested to cause cardiomyopathy because of interference with fatty acid metabolism and they also interact with the autonomous nervous system (ANS). Our results show, that the development of ANS tone seems to be missing in the older population of subjects after cardiotoxic therapy. |
