| Description | Peculiarities of women's criminal responsibility in the Middle Ages arise from the status of women at that time. The view on the status of women in the Middle Ages is reflected in their legal ability which is also reflected in their criminal responsibility. We have to say that legal status of women in criminal law was very inconvenient especially in the sphere of sexual offence. Especially the idea of extramerital sexual life did not accord with ideas of churchmen about marriage, and so if we follow the criminal defense of marriage, we will come especially to the offence of bigamy and infidelity. |
