Description Many lichens are extremophiles that cope with and survive under extreme conditions such as e.g. sub-zero temperature, drought, high light. A brief overview of the effects of these factors on lichen photosynthesis, especially photosynthetic photochemical processes measured by chlorophyll fluorescence technique is given.
