Description | The results of a pilot project on the saproxylic beetle fauna of the canopy and trunk layers of a Central European hardwood floodplain forest are presented. Of a total catch of 1190 beetles trapped by flight interception traps, 340 specimens belonged to 92 species classified as obligatory, facultative or potential saproxylics. The species composition of both layers differed substantially. Several species considered rare and threatened were collected, some in high numbers. |
