Description	The paper describes the party the Union of Freedom Democratic Union. Union of Freedom (US) was founded at the beginning of 1998 mainly by former ODS members, who rebelled without success against the chairman Václav Klaus at the end of 1997. The Party wanted to uphold a conservative-liberal policy in a more "moral" way than the ODS and it strove to replace the ODS in the party system. It was an abortive attempt, although in 2002 the US merged with the small anti-Communist Democratic Union.
