Description Traditional folk culture has its firm place in tourism. People want to learn about unigue life of a nation, about its distinct ethnographical regions and communities or interesting places. The open-air museums are places where all such things are presented. There are ones focusing on the traditional house and folk culture. There are also ones called ecomuseums. They do not preserve existing historic buildings. They present reconstructions of ancient or madieval buildings based on scholarly research. Now, we can find almost twenty archeological open-air museums. They are an outcome of scholarly, children, or commerical activities. They are described in the supplement.
