Description | N-heterocyclic analogs of PAHs (N-PAHs) are as well as homocyclic PAHs important and widespread environmental contaminants. Many of them are carcinogens, mutagens and teratogens. Some results indicate that N-PAHs have higher toxic and genotoxic potencies and bioavailability than PAHs. In this study the interference of N-PAHs with retinoid signaling system was tested. After 24 h exposure most of three, four and five ring PAHs and N-PAHs increased RA activity. Obtained data were statistically analyzed and quantitative-structure activity relationship study was performed. This study was supported by GACR 525/05/P160. |
