| Description | The title of this essay precisely expresses both its content and its aim which is to present Swedish model of employment and labour market policy in past and nowadays. In the beginning, the essay describes a historical development of the Swedish labour market and responses of Swedish employment policy to labour market changes. Later on the specific approach of Swedish active employment policy - so called "the human capital approach" - is discussed and the social-integrative potential of this approach is shown by examples of concrete programmes dealing with long-term unemployed ones. However, Swedish employment offices do not focus only on the unemployed but also on the employers. It seems to be a strong part of Swedish employment policy. Therefore the essay presents some interesting programmes and projects concerning the cooperation between employment offices and employers too. |
