Description Three bronze or brass vessels are placed in the Kroměříž (Region) Museum in Kroměříž. The Museum acquired these artifacts from antiquarian and amateur archeologist J. Slovák (1856-1931) in the late 1920s. J. Slovák is one of the outstanding figures of early Moravian archeological research. Like other described items from Slováks collection, the find context of the vessels is uncertain. A jug, probably of the Castoldi IIb type of the Helenistic period, is the oldest piece in the collection, a saucepan with an oar-shaped handle comes from the 1st century AD and a cauldron of the Debelt type dates to somewhere between the 1st and 3rd century AD. The described vessels differ from commonly distributed metal vessels found in the Middle Danube region, which indicates their foreign origin. It is quite possible that J. Slovák obtained the artifacts from a different region and that the items have been ascribed to the Middle Danube region arbitrarily.
