Description The autor puts forth the question whether the so-called Five had certain models in similar organs within the Habsburg Monarchy at the time of parliamentarism. The Five was an influential political body which had no support in the contemporary legislative. The Study becomes clear that even the douwnfall of the Austrian Empire and establishment of Czechoslovakia did not register a great cesura in the political culture. On the contrary, even the Five must be perceived not as a result of imperfection of Czechoslovakian political culture berween the wars, but as an organic part of continual development of modern political culture which started with the birth of parliamentalism in the Habsburg Monarchy and continued under new conditions in the parlamentarism and political systém in the first Czechoslovak Republic.
