Description Case report regarding the first successful use of efungumab in a child with cancer in Europe.Invasive fungal infections represent a relatively fequent and serious complication of the treatment in cancer patients. Fungal peritonitis forms a complicated subgroup of them and has been connected with a high mortality rate. We present a case reprt of a 12 year old boy diagnosed with abdominal NHL and proven Candida sp. peritonitis as an early onset complication of the induction chemotherapy. The invasive mycosis has been seccesfully managed using a combined approcachof systemic antifungal agents, surgical interventions and monoclonal antibody efungumab (Mycograb). We present our own experience with this novel drug in a pediatric patient. A wide collaboration between specialists is accented, and therapeutic options in invasive fungal nfections are discussed.
