Description | Multiple myeloma and monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significancy are routinely distinguished on the basis of paraprotein concentration, level of plasma cell infiltrate and the presence or absence of other clinical features. Flow cytometric detection of plasma cells according to the expression of CD38 and CD138 is not enough to discriminate between normal and abnormal plasma cells. The aim of this study was to find the numbers of physiological and pathological plasma cells expressing CD19 or CD56 and their reference to the type of disease. |
