Description A survey of 492 households, which were struck by floods in the Czech Republic in 2002, has been carried out in collaboration with the Czech Caritas in winter of 2003/2004 in all the struck regions of the Czech Republic. Structured interview technique administered by interviewers was chosen and supplemented with several scales and was focused on the issues of the course of the flood, impact on the household, of the provided and needed help, and of the psychological impact of the event. Within another part of the research, professional helpers reflected their own experience too. The results are focused primarily on the issues of the needs of the victims in relation to the impact of deluges, on the organization of the help, on the impact of deluges on the minds of victims, and on the psychosocial aspects of the aid.
