Description The microscale electrolysis at mercury electrode recorded by fast scan rates showed that the reduction product can be oxidized back to the original molecule G exhibiting an anodic signal at around minus 0.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl/KCl. The anodic G peak is very analytically useful. The contribution is aimed at explaining the role of hydrogen reduction (HER) in the redox process of guanine.
