Citation
Description The main goal of this paper is an analysis and comparison of demographic evolution and the main demographic determinants in Estonia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovenia in the period from 1990 to 2007. The focus of this work is on the main demographic determinant, age structure of population, that is influenced by evolution of total fertility and mortality rate and migration movement. Subsequently, we try to find out how changes in age structure affect competitivness of these economies. Effects of demographic changes are most important in the area of population aging and workforce ageing.
