Description This article focuses on language acquisition in children with autism spectrum disorder. In its first part, communication of children from this specific group is described. The next part focuses on their speech in some language areas such as pragmatics, syntax, phonology. Intermodal Preferential Looking (IPL) is described. Research completed by some experts from abroad is mentioned. The way that previously acquired language regresses in specific diseases and disorders is described. There are references, mainly from abroad, at the end of this paper.
